To communicate with a person with a hearing impairment:
- To express at all times an interest in facilitating communication
- Never speaking unless the person is looking.
- He catches their attention with a discreet sign before speaking.
- Speak straight ahead and normally, neither too fast nor too slow to facilitate lip reading.
- Vocalise correctly but without exaggerating, using short sentences.
- Keep the mouth area clear of obstacles.
- To be at their level.
- Remain still while communicating.
- Find a lit area.
- Look into the eyes of our conversation partner.
- Use a normal tone of voice, it is no use shouting.
- Help yourself with writing and mime.
- Keep calm.
